Humanity in humankind functions as any highly redundant
mechanism: it exists as long as the last element of the system
operates in it's determined mode and capacity ... I mean, there is
still hope, if not for the Man, but for a man, if only the very last
messenger of light still breathes among us, and cries into skies
his painful yowl for sanity - for evil is nothing else than an
abnormal state of mind, and every form of discrimination is
only a type of serious mental illness, sadly, in too many cases
rather of collective than of individual manifestation. In short, I
wanted to say that we should breed a rational amount of hope,
because we had one true MAN, one true devoted believer, who
was, of course, monstruously erased from our present.  But
bullets will never defeat truth. Martin Luther King had the gift to
enlighten the thoughts of many who already bought their tickets to
regression and de-evolution, this beautiful man cried out the
meaning of the Man itself : the butchering of the children of
mankind that we all directly or indirectly conduct, destroying not
only its present victim, but puts a black seed of destruction in
the persecutor of such acts, whether it is sexual, racial, religious,
national, or other form of discrimination... there are no winners
in this bloody game of humankind's preschool education.
So, I wanted to share with someone on the far side of this
planet, that someone small, a child of bloody Balcanic history,
that one Serb from Croatia, sheds tiny, silent tears whenever he
remembers what a great man had to fall - so the rest of the
world could rise. Marthin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi and
Nikola Tesla are my only and definite moral authorities.
Happines expands a place for hope, when I see how many sites
are dedicated to our father : Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I send you all so many warm and honest greetings !

He seemed to have been a very good man. If only the chance was given to sit down and talk to him. By him never giving up his goals, he helps me to remember that All Things are Possible With God!!!!!

Comments: Martin Luther King Jr. was a very astonishing man for all the work he did and all the speeches he gave to help the colored achieve their freedom. He gave his life, so others could live in peace. If it wasn't for him, my uncle and many of my friends would be in slavery right now, and me of course, I might even of been the owner of them. I'm also proud of Martin because he helped end slavery, and me, I just can't stand to watch ANYBODY be treated the way slaves were back then. I will always cherish him, always celebrate his birthday, and never forget what he did for America and colored slaves all over the world. It would have been a honor to know him back then

Comments: As a young women myself, and still going to school, I think that it is very important for me to know about our history. It is because of people like Dr. Martin Luther King that now we don't have any more segregation. I hope that everybody who lives in America and everyone around the world knows that this Holiday is not about getting a day off work or school, but a day to get up and do something to remember this wonderful man

Not only was it a valuable lesson in terms of reading and vocabulary, but it gave me the opportunity to introduce them to this great hero (not only an American hero, but a world hero). My students came into the lesson knowing very little about MLK and by the end of the lesson had begun to really admire this great man.

How disappointing and sad, I thought.....that NOT ONE WRITTEN WORD was there to acknowlege today....the day in honor of Martin Luther KING.... damn! So let me say...thank you Mr. King for all that you gave to our nation and the important legacy you left for us to remember.....

Today in school we watched a short movie about Martin Luther King Jr. I thought it could have explained more, but it didn't. I may only be 12 years old, but I still appreciate everything he did. Without him, blacks and whites would probably still fight. He made "His Dream" come true with such grace. I thank him.

We were living in a world full of injustice. I wish every minority would just take a minute and look at themselves and remember how hard this man worked for justice for all minorities. He did not work for us to be killing each other. Please remember what he stood for.

Comments: This is a great website. I am researching for material and pictures and discussions for MLK day. I am going to plan an activity at the center in which I work. I suffer with mental illness, and MLK words are sooo meaningful . The way those of us who suffer with mental illness, any type, are treated by the community and public is so stigmatizing, I call it prejuidice and discrimination. I am not African American, but because of my mental illness, MLK is close to my heart. He also worked hard toward the end of his life to advocate for the poor and homeless. So I feel that when I am celebrating MLK day, I am celebrating action for all persons, colors and disablities. Raymond

I have watched the movie Roots and all sort of movies about the depression, and I think it is sad what so many people had to go through. I have always said since I noticed people of all different colors and there it is "so people are different and some people just have been in the sun longer than others" and many, many of my friend are more tanned than I am. Some people have their own opinions but that is mine. I salute Martin Luther King.

Comments: Martin Luther King strived for freedom...and I admire him greatly for that. It makes me ashamed to think that our country once found it necessary to find such a small difference-our skin color-to divide us in as many ways as possible. He was one of the few to look beyond our heritage and look at what lies in others heart's. To have the courage to separate himself from the crowd, not even knowing he was going to have a world-wide impact is remarkable.

Comments: I thoroughly enjoyed doing your scavenger hunt and certainly learned a lot. I know that my students will be enlightened by all of the information on Martin Luther King and discrimination in the United States. The majority of them come from another country and can therefore, identify with many of the ideas that Martin Luther King, Jr. had.

Comments: Hi what's going on? I like that page because you guys gave us questions and the place where we could find the answer. You guys made my life easy! But it is also a good page "i like". I would it like if you would keep doing jobs like that because it's good to do something different instead of just answering questions from a reading. Well I have to go now. Thank you, have a good one.

Comments: For many years I have felt the pain of his death and continue to hurt deep inside. I don't understand why it happened to a man with such goodness in his heart. The pictures that I see of him, the words I hear from audio recordings all continue to move me to even greater feats. I only wish he was still alive. He is my motivator. I rank his contributions at the top of my list along side my mothers contributions towards my development.

Since I work with America's Youth on a daily basis I decided to print the scavenger hunt in an attempt to heighten the awareness of Dr. King's fight for justice & equality. I believe that I work at a place that exemplifies the phrase in his famous "I HAVE A DREAM" speech: "One day, black children & white children .... play together" on a daily basis where I work. Comments: I teach second grade in Atlanta, TX. One of my students saw the picture of Dr. King on the screen as I was doing the scavenger hunt and asked, "Who is that?" I just about fell out of my chair as I asked, "You don't know?" They shook their head and I thought to myself, "They will know who he was by the end of this school year!"
